at your church...it's
easier than you think.
7) Train
Parents to be Intentional
Host a Small Group or Equipping Class based on the book "Your
Heritage".
8) Family
Nights Training
Continue your training using our Family Nights DVD to introduce and
demonstrate a strategy for what training looks like in the home.
Then support this group with on-going Family Night Support
Classes using the Family Night Tool Chest series. Your Family Night Support Class
will run approximately 5 weeks.
The "Your Heritage" Class and Family Night
Training/Support Class combine for 16 weeks of material. It
would be good to host these classes every other quarter.
Your parents will now understand
the basics of - "Why be Intentional" and "How to be
Intentional". Use bulletin inserts as a constant
reminder to your class participants and show new families that
Family Ministry is a priority to your church.
9) Equipping Classes
These are great tools for equipping the parents in your church
in helping them understand the physical and spiritual
development of their child.
10)
Bring Families Together
True Family Ministry is bringing Parents and Children together.
First, celebrate the Spiritual Milestones of the children in
your church. Spiritual Milestones include Baby Dedication,
Baptism, Commitment to Purity, Rite of Passage and The Blessing
us the book "Spiritual Milestones".
Then, take the big step and start
a Family Worship Service. This service is not designed to
substitute Sunday morning worship. You can host an event once a
month on a Sunday night, Wednesday night or any night that works
best for your families. Through this service, you train parents
through the eyes of their children. The service is both
entertaining and worshipful. At the end of the program, parents
are given the materials they need to be intentional in the home:
Mealtime discussion cards, Drive-time discussion cards, Family
Night Activities, Bedtime discussion cards and an Adventures in
Odyssey
CD. Each of these components are based on the same topic as the
worship service. We have written and designed 20 complete
programs. Three are available in the "Family Worship Service
Leaders Guide & DVD.
