Why implement Heritage Builders in your School? The Family, Church and
School -- like a three-legged stool -- each is necessary for the formation
of the next generation. Each "leg" of this stool should work in
concert with the others, mutually supporting a common message, but each
within its unique area of influence. If one of these legs is shorter,
or in conflict with the values of one of the other legs, it increases the
difficulty of keeping the entire project -- raising our children -- upright.
Therefore, what is taught at home should be reinforced in school; and what
is taught at school should be reinforced at church; and what is taught at
church should be reinforced at home. It is a never ending circle of
mutual enhancement and support. This has led to Heritage Builders
exploring new curriculum to reinforce the job that parents have of raising
children. We found that school leaders face the problem of finding Christian curriculum that is
comprehensive in teaching students to view their world from a Biblical
worldview. Many teachers need to supplement existing curriculum that
is offered by current publishers. In addition, teachers are often
frustrated with lack of parental support in teaching their students from a
Biblical worldview.
Therefore, a recent project that we are undertaking is to introduce
curriculum that integrates the Heritage Builders concepts in grades K-12.
This is an exciting project that will help children
and their parents see the world from a Biblical worldview. More information on this project will be forthcoming. |
